Holy family Hospital has a well – equipped and licensed Blood Bank with blood components separation facilities. As there is always a short supply of Blood,the ability to separate and supply only those components that patients need, leads to efficient use of this precious resource. At our Blood Bank we are able to supply both whole blood as well as its components like packed cells, fresh frozen plasma, platelet concentrate; cryoprecipitate. This leads to the most effective way of optimum, safe and economical use of blood, since a number of patients could be treated with the same unit of blood. We have set our own internal; external quality parameters for the blood we handle. The Blood bank organises out- reach blood camps periodically to detect blood groups and encourage blood donation among people. It is located in the ground floor of the hospital providing round the clock services to the hospital
